New to the cello, old to other instruments - and new to this course and forum.
I'm very encouraged by the content of the course.
I'm an older guy, lifelong drummer and bass player. About 4 months ago, I got bit by the bug to learn some cello.
My bass experience helps a bit with the right hand, but the left hand bowing is super challenging and humbling to me.
Hoping the course helps me climb out of the ditch. :)
Hi Frank! Thanks for joining! Awesome to hear that you already are a musician coming into it! Surely your rhythm will be excellent and the bass skills will help with hand dexterity! You’ll notice that the left hand is more like an upright bass rather than an electric with the way you arch your hand and place your thumb! The course is designed to start off super easy and ease your way into it! Try and perfect each day to the best of your ability, and prioritize quality over zooming ahead to the next day! Yes, I am going to resist the urge to zoom. :) That is why after 4 1/2 months, I am still trying to get out of the gate. I wanted to believe my past musical learning would accelerate me, and eventually, my rhythm and right hand will help, but, I gotta get out of the bowing gate successfully and cleanly, and it humbles me daily. :) I'm glad I found this course.
